Super Bowl XLIII Preview

With two weeks until Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa Bay, we will take a daily look at the factors that will affect the game.

#3 Jersey Colour

I'll let the AP say it, as reported on si.com;

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will wear their white road uniforms against the Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl, just as they did when they defeated Seattle for the NFL title three years ago. The Cardinals, as the home team, chose to wear their red home jerseys in the Feb. 1 game in Tampa, Florida.

In the 2006 Super Bowl, the Steelers had the option of wearing their black home jerseys, but elected to wear white after playing and winning three road playoff games in as many weeks. This will be only the third time in their seven Super Bowls the Steelers will wear white. They also wore white while defeating Minnesota in the 1975 Super Bowl.

What does this mean...probably not a whole lot. The Cards may be trying to play a little psychological game with the Steelers having them wear the white jersey's, but it doesn't seem to affect them as they keep winning big games no matter the ensemble.

  1. On another note...I'm very happy the game is on NBC this year.
    I get SO sick of Buck/Aikman on FOX.
    Nantz/Simms on CBS are pretty good.
    But I just love what Al Michales brings to a game (Madden...eh...he is what he is).
    The production value on the Sunday Night NBC broadcasts is top notch so I expect that and more for the SB.
