This weekend seems like a slow sports weekend, with the opening of the major league baseball season done and gone, no masters and the NCAA basketball tourney all finished, but after looking closer there is plenty to cheer for...
Blue Jays - after having record low crowds during the week, they open a series against the LA Angels and hopefully some more wins (and bigger crowds) to pad there lead on top of the AL East. After hitting a home run yesterday, looking for Travis Snider to have a big weekend!
NBA Playoffs Start - couple of big series, especially in the Western Conference. It will be fun to watch the Lakers and Thunder and of course the Nuggets and Jazz series. Just too bad we can't watch the Raptors...
NHL Playoffs Continue - as much as I dislike hockey most of the time, the playoffs are a fun time that produce great games and great moments for fans, I guess...

Who To Cheer For This Weekend
This weekend is the calm before the storm. It is like the rogue wave hitting the cruise ship, not the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that lets loose the tsunami.
This weekend you again have a few choices of what to cheer for...you can go for the Oscars. When cheering for the Oscars you have sub-categories of what to cheer for. Best dressed, best speech (shortest or funniest), most drunk and dumbest comment to the ETalk! reporter are all good things to cheer for.
Check back tomorrow to get my picks for Oscar night.
Other stuff you can cheer for this weekend - small conference NCAA basketball championship games. These small conferences teams all fight for the one automatic bid into the March Madness tournament. They all fight till the death for the 13 to 16 seed only to be eliminated on Thursday by 3pm. Still fun to watch them celebrate and not sweat it out like Louisville, Notre Dame or Florida.
If basketball isn't your thing, you can always cheer for Spring Training baseball! Most of the country is experiencing unseasonably high temperatures this weekend (which means it is 5 degrees) so pretend it is April not March and watch some players you will never see in a Major League uniform again. Also,make sure you boo the new spring training hats - what were you thinking New Era?

Snack of the Day
With the Olympics on right now there are lots of food choices. No matter what country you cheer for, you could come up with a home town dish. With my decision making skills what they are, I decided to choose a snack of the day that is international - the SNO-KONE.

The Sno-Kone is always a good choice, you don't get the brain freeze like a Slurpee, you don't feel fat like you do after ice cream and you feel creative because you have mashed all these colours together to get the perfect flavour.
To go along with the Snack of the Day, today you get a bonus;
WHO TO CHEER FOR THIS WEEKEND
This weekend you should cheer for Josh Howard and Tracy McGrady. You should cheer for Josh Howard because he will be trying to impress his new teammates and fans in Washington after being traded from Dallas on Thursday. If he does well, watch out downtown D.C., Howard apparently likes your clubs. According to reports that our coming out of Dallas, Howard missed a game earlier this year in Washington because he was too hung over. Keep in mind the game was at 7pm and on a Tuesday. Good for him. So cheer for Howard, so that everyone can party hard!
You should also save some claps and woohoo for the newest NY Knick - Tracy McGrady. Although, not normally a fan favorite in Toronto, please cheer for McGrady who is still trying to prove that he is a quality NBA player and not just a guy who was traded to clear cap space next year.
