Movie Time

Over the weekend, I was able to take in two movies. One on TV and the other as a rental. Both had their merits and I would watch both again if that means anything.

Crank
Jason Stratham (Transporter) plays Chevy Chelios a hit man who was hired to take out a Chinese Triad. Unfortunately, the hit doesn't sit right with other gang members in LA and as retribution Chelios is infected with a poison that is intended to slow his heart down and kill him. The only way to save himself is to keep his heart rate up with adrenaline.

Not really a film for the ladies, but this had everything for the guys - car chases, gun fights, freaky violence and of course a mandatory boob shot of co-star Amy Smart who is never shy to take off her top.

Some great action sequences, and one liners make this a fun movie that I could watch on cable over and over.

Role Models
Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott are co-workers who get in trouble with law and are sentenced to 150 hours of community service. They do their work at a "Big Brother" knock-off and get assigned to wack job kids. Hilarity ensues...

From the relationship with the kids and the owner of the Big Brother company both Rudd and Scott have some wicked lines. The little brother of Scott, Ronnie is hilarious and was given a great part. There will be roles for him in future comedies for sure. I laughed out loud at numerous parts. You have to be quick to catch all the jokes, some are whispered under breath, so try to pay attention. As a bonus feature to all the jokes this comedy doesn't disappoint with random naked ladies as both Wheeler (Scott) and his little brother Ronnie are obsessed with breasts and we thank them for that. This movie will have a cult following once the word spreads. Paul Rudd has written and starred in comedy gold and has another one out in theatres right now with "I Love You, Man". Might have to go see that one on cheap Tuesday!
